On May 15, 2017 the Ada County Housing Authority (ACHA) will begin accepting pre- applications for placement on the Low Rent Public Housing  waiting list.

  • The waiting list will be open for the scattered sites only. This complex consist of a two bedroom unit and are designated for low income individuals who qualify as elderly (62 or older), a person with a disabling condition, or a person working 20 hours or more and a person who has U.S. Citizenship or eligible immigration status.

Applications to determine preliminary eligibility will be available to the public on May 15, 2018 at 8:00 am and will close on May 26, 2017 at 4:00 pm, at the Boise City Ada County Housing Authority at 1276 River Street, Suite 300, Boise, Idaho 83702 and will be accessible online at www.bcacha.org.

The Boise City Ada County Housing Authorities (BCACHA) has completed its Agency Annual Plan in compliance with the Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act of 1998. The BCACHA’s Annual Plan is a comprehensive guide to the Authority’s policies, programs, operations, and strategies for meeting local housing needs and goals. It is available for review at the BCACHA’s office located at 1276 River St., Suite # 300, Boise, Idaho 83702, and on our website at www.bcacha.org. In addition, a public hearing will be held on June 22, 2017 at 3:00 PM on the second floor of the Housing Authority’s office. Public comments may also be provided in writing at the meeting or they may be mailed to 1276 W. River St., Suite #300, Boise, ID 83702 or via email to sbernstrom@bcacha.org.

BCACHA complies with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Individuals with disabilities who may need auxiliary aids, services or special modifications to participate in the public hearing should contact Sandi Bernstrom at (208) 287-1056. Requests should be made no later than seven days prior to the hearing so necessary arrangements can be made.

The Boise City Ada County Housing Authority (BCACHA) will close the Public Housing (Capitol and Franklin Plazas) and Section 8 New Construction (Shoreline Plaza) waiting lists effective February 16, 2017, at 6:00 pm until further notice.

Applications will not be accepted for these waiting lists after the closing date and time.

Public Notice will be provided when the BCACHA re-opens the waiting list for these sites.

The BCACHA has determined, based on HUD regulation, a public hearing is not required when opening and closing the waiting list. Therefore, only public notice will be provided as stated in the prevailing Admissions and Continuing Occupancy Policy (ACOP).

All applications currently on the waiting lists will be processed according to BCACHA policies and procedures. Applicants are placed on the waiting lists by date and time of their application. Waiting list updates on current applicants will continue to be taken while the waiting list is closed. It is important for applicants to keep their address updated with BCACHA and to respond to any notices sent by BCACHA.
