SECTION 8 NEW CONSTRUCTION

The Boise City/Ada County Housing Authority manages Shoreline Plaza, an eighty unit high rise complex for elderly or disabled individuals and couples, under the Section 8 New Construction Program. The Section 8 New Construction Program was established by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development in order to provide rental assistance in connection with the development of newly constructed or substantially rehabilitated privately owned rental housing.

QUALIFICATIONS
In order to qualify for the Public Housing Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Low Income:  Applicants must earn less than the following incomes limits that have been established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development released on 12/21/2015.

Applicants must also meet one of the following conditions:

Elderly:  Applicants (head of household or spouse) must be 62 years of age or older.
Disabled:  Applicants (head of household or spouse) must have a disability.

Applicants will be required to provide the Boise City/Ada County Housing Authority with verification of all sources of income.

WAITING LIST:
Qualifying applicants are placed on a waiting list until assistance becomes available.  The length of time an applicant is on the waiting list depends on preference criteria, family size, and the date of the received application.  The Boise City/Ada County Housing Authority has no emergency housing assistance available.  Applicants on the waiting list are required to promptly notify the Housing Authority, in writing, to any change in their situation (e.g. new address, change in income or family composition).
