The Boise City/Ada County Housing Authority has an immediate opening for a full time Occupancy Support Specialist. The position provides a variety of administrative duties including coordinating Housing Quality Standards (HQS) inspections, conducting rent reasonableness testing, conducting initial eligibility screening of local properties, maintaining databases and related records, maintaining files, copying and ensuring logs and records are current and up to date. Duties include processing annual and interim certification packets, processing portability paperwork, assisting in maintaining waiting list and updates, and preparing correspondence and forms. Prepares and sends out notices for missed inspections, failed inspections, abatements, and rescheduled inspections. Reviews and maintains all HQS documents and checklists and enters data into computer system. Facilitate voucher briefings and annual re-certification meetings; assist with new admissions meetings; assist with storage files. Prepares all Request for Tenancy Approvals (RFTA’s) by gathering rent reasonableness, owner information, and any other information necessary for the Housing Representatives to process. Performs administrative functions associated with inspections, including gathering information from property owners and renters, and reviewing current property information as directed. Communicates with Owners/Landlords and Tenants about HUD housing regulations and related codes, policies and procedures. Tracks and monitors repairs or other property violations to ensure commitments are met and services are provided that uphold the integrity of housing authority operations.

Experience Required: High school diploma or GED; and previous experience in administrative support; or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the position may be considered. Ability to obtain a Housing Quality Inspections (HQS) Certification and Rent Reasonableness Training. Must have a valid Idaho State driver’s license.
