Performs manual work in the grounds maintenance of buildings and facilities. The successful applicant will show general knowledge of landscaping and grounds maintenance, the ability to safely operate power equipment, and the ability to perform related work as required. The safe operation of a vehicle is required to travel from one building to the next. Valid Idaho driver’s license is required. The principle duties of this job are performed in an outside environment in all types of weather, through all seasons. Position closes on March 11, 2019 at 5:30 pm.
This position performs manual work in the cleaning of buildings and facilities. Work requires the safe operation of hand maneuvered electrical scrubbers, waxers, and buffers, mops, brooms, ladders and cleaning chemicals. The safe operation of a vehicle is required to travel from one building to the next; performs related work as required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Sweeps, mops, strips, waxes, and polishes floors. Vacuums and shampoos carpets. Dusts and polishes furniture. Collects and empties wastebaskets; cleans trash disposal containers. Cleans mirrors, venetian blinds, light fixtures, windows, doors, walls, and drinking fountains. Cleans and sanitizes rest rooms and replenishes towels, tissues, and soap. Performs minor repair work as needed. Moves janitorial equipment in and out of storage areas. Safely uses cleaning chemicals and solvents. Ordering, stocking, and keeping track of cleaning supplies. Requires Knowledge of: The safe use of janitorial supplies, and the safe use of manual and electrical cleaning equipment; occupational hazards and safety precautions involved in general cleaning and use of chemical cleaning solvents and agents. Requires Ability to: Quickly learn and apply janitorial procedures. Lift, move and maneuver hand and power cleaning equipment weighing up to 50 pounds safely.
