IT Specialist- Part Time

The Boise City/Ada County Housing Authority is seeking a permanent, part-time IT Specialist. Duties will include assisting the IT and Operations Administrator to manage the Housing Authorities IT infrastructure. Focus on help desk support, server updates, maintenance, spam control, installs and modifications. Requires excellent Customer Service skills; experience working in an IT support role and within a customer service role. This position requires a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7 & 10, as well as other software packages including Microsoft Office, Webex, ZOOM and similar video conferencing technologies. This is a part-time, non-benefit position. Hourly wage is $17.87 per hour.

Custodian

The Boise City/Ada County Housing Authority has an opening for a full time Custodian. This position performs manual work in the cleaning of buildings and facilities. Work requires the safe operation of hand maneuvered electrical scrubbers, waxers, and buffers, mops, brooms, ladders and cleaning chemicals. The safe operation of a vehicle is required to travel from one building to the next; performs related work as required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Sweeps, mops, strips, waxes, and polishes floors. Vacuums and shampoos carpets. Dusts and polishes furniture. Collects and empties wastebaskets; cleans trash disposal containers. Cleans mirrors, venetian blinds, light fixtures, windows, doors, walls, and drinking fountains. Cleans and sanitizes rest rooms and replenishes towels, tissues, and soap. Performs minor repair work as needed. Moves janitorial equipment in and out of storage areas.Safely uses cleaning chemicals and solvents.Notifies supervisor, verbally or in writing, of building conditions needing repairs. Locks doors and windows when work is finished. Responds to citizens’ questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner. Ordering, stocking, and keeping track of cleaning supplies. Performs all work duties and activities in accordance Housing Authority policies, procedures and safety practices. Requires Knowledge of: The safe use of janitorial supplies, and the safe use of manual and electrical cleaning equipment; occupational hazards and safety precautions involved in general cleaning and use of chemical cleaning solvents and agents. Requires Ability to: Quickly learn and apply janitorial procedures. Lift, move and maneuver hand and power cleaning equipment weighing up to 50 pounds safely. Work independently to complete work on schedule and according to quality control standards. Work evenings and irregular hours if required. Comprehend and follow oral and written instructions. Identify and recommend improved methods of performing the work. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, co-workers, building occupants, and the public. Provide quality services in a cost-effective manner and to recommend improved methods of performing the work. Wage is $12.95/hr.
