Administrative Support Specialist

The Boise City and Ada County Housing Authorities are seeking an Administrative Support Specialist. Duties will include answering incoming calls and providing general program information and requirements, greeting clients, tenant accounts receivable and rent rolls, collections, maintaining spreadsheets. In addition, this position will provide clerical support to the various departments within the Housing Authorities. Basic bookkeeping, spreadsheet and data entry skills required. Previous experience in a non-profit preferred.

Accounting Specialist

The Boise City and Ada County Housing Authorities are seeking an Accounting Specialist. Duties will include accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, communicating with landlords and maintaining spreadsheets. Basic bookkeeping, spreadsheet and data entry skills required. Previous experience in a non-profit preferred. Fulltime, benefits.

Starting pay for this position is $38,608 annually.

Family Self-Sufficiency Coordinator

The Boise City/Ada County Housing Authority has an opening for a full time Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) Coordinator. This is a grant-funded position. The primary function of the position includes maintaining a caseload of Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher participants and providing them with ongoing support to assist them in achieving self-sufficiency through needs assessments, goal setting, and coordination of services.

Duties: Conduct assessments of participants needs in order to develop Individualized Training and Services Plans. Assist participants to engage in activities that will help them meet their goals through one-on-one meetings, referrals to community agencies and services, advocacy, problem-solving, and ongoing assessments of progress and program compliance. Track participants progress towards goals and revise the service plan as appropriate. Coordinate services with other providers and case managers to support the identified service plan. Maintain accurate and complete case files, Maintain reporting data and write reports as needed. Provide information regarding programs and services to other agencies, clients, and the public. Explain policies, procedures, and regulations.

Experience Required: Knowledge of HUD rules and regulations; case management, principles of casework, intervention, and referral services; social needs of low-income families; familiarity with human services agencies and services; computer skills including proficiency with Word, Excel and aptitude for working with complex databases preferred. Bachelors Degree in social services, human services, psychology, or related field and one year experience in social service agency; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Housing Representative

The Boise City & Ada County Housing Authorities has an immediate opening for a Housing Representative. The primary function of this position is to handle a caseload of approximately 350 low-income households participating in the Section 8 Rental Assistance Program. Primary duties include processing eligibility verifications and rent calculations, preparing all required documentation, maintaining accurate and current records and data base, executing contracts and leases, responding to landlord-tenant disputes and investigating claims of fraud, communicating program rules and regulations to participants, landlords, and the public, conducting annual and interim re-certifications, and preparing regular and special reports and other duties as required. The principal duties of this class are performed in a general office environment. Prefer applicants who have experience working in a Public Housing Authority, or with other housing related programs.

Starting pay for this position is $41,000 annually.

Maintenance Technician

Essential functions of this job are to perform planned and corrective maintenance to building surfaces, fixtures, systems and equipment. Work includes plumbing, mechanical, electrical, carpentry, painting, masonry, plastering and general cleaning tasks related to rental properties. The principal duties of this class are performed in an indoor environment; some work is performed in an outdoor environment, which may involve adverse weather conditions and related hazards.
