This is Idaho’s first single-site, permanent supportive housing development using the “Housing First” approach to helping the chronically homeless.
Building Details:
This building, located at 2200 W Fairview in Boise, will have 40 one-bedroom tenant units and a manager unit, dedicated office space, private counseling rooms, and a community meeting space for delivering supportive services.
Supportive Services that will be included:
- Medical care
- Mental health and substance abuse counseling
- Case management
- Life skills education
- Financial and job training
Groundbreaking was held on September 20, 2017, and was attended by Boise Mayor Dave Bieter as well as representatives from partnering agencies. Boise City Housing Authority will contribute about $4.5 million over the next 15 years to cover rent and utility costs. These funds come from the voucher program, which provides about $12 million every year in rental assistance to Boise City/Ada County.
