Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) Program

The Boise City/Ada County Housing Authority (BCACHA) is committed to administering rental assistance programs to effectively address the housing needs of low-income families. Since 2008, BCACHA has administered the Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) Program in partnership with our local Veterans Administration office.  The VASH Program provides rental assistance to homeless Veterans and their families in combination with case management and clinical services through the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) of Boise. On February 22, 2018, Deanna Watson, Executive Director of the BCACHA, announced a new venture to expand housing options for VASH participants in conjunction with other local government agencies. In the coming months, BCACHA will be issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) inviting owners and developers to submit proposals for participation in the VASH Project-Based Voucher (PBV) Program. The goal of the request is to expand economic and housing opportunities for homeless veterans by linkage to the program providing them with housing along with necessary supportive services.
